Band drums and horns blasting, colorful lights, and an endless supply of champagne was what I was noticed when I ventured into DivaDance Chicago. I knew I was in the right place because dancing and champagne goes hand in hand…well for me it does. My friend Briana was my plus 1 for the evening and we were pumped up. See our kids were home safely with their babysitter’s and we were out free in the heart of Downtown Chicago with lots of cups of Bubbly! #MomWin. Oh and they had cookies. Double win.
Sometimes as a mom you need that kid free time to zone out and do somethings you want to do without feeling guilty. DivaDance is one of those things, plus you burn calories while dancing the night away. I love that it’s a judgement free zone. Everyone is there to have a good time, work out, and learn some moves. Nobody is watching anybody other than the instructor. Trust me!
We “Milly Rocked”, “Twerked” and even “Dabbed”! I felt like the cool kid in class and couldn’t wait to tell my oldest son some of the moves I learned. Even though the class is fast paced we were able to keep practicing until we got it right. Looking into the mirror and watching us all move in harmony was a joy in itself. We laughed and giggled as the instructor named some of the movements and explained how to do it. It wasn’t stressful at all. It made me think of a big girls night out party.
DivaDance Chicago is located Downtown Chicago which makes getting there super easy. I personally would Uber there so I wouldn’t have to look for parking, however my friend Briana drove from the South Shore area and found a park a block away with no issues and added money on her meter through the parking app. So there are options for transportation including CTA.
The dance routine was sexy, fun, and liberating. Who doesn’t want to move like Beyoncé? You are free and encouraged to let loose. The atmosphere is definitely alter ego friendly. Letting your hair down and learning some new moves. The price point isn’t bad and your first class is FREE! That’s right free.99 they are so sure you will have a blast and come back that they offer you a free class. Just check out their schedule online and register. Thank me later.
A dope thing about DivaDance is the story behind it. CEO and Head Diva, Jami Stigliano, is amazing and all about girl power. She taught the class I attended and her energy is off the chain. She explained how it started and how it grew. She turned her dream into a franchise with over 4 cities opening a DivaDance location! Chicago location owner Molly Moore was super sweet and lots of fun. Her parents came to see her open her first dance studio and it melted my heart. I definitely felt part of the family.
DivaDance isn’t for professional dancers it’s for the woman that wants to get out and explore or burn some calories. Not only do they have memberships, but they also have single classes and party options. I think this would be a great girls night out event or a sexy birthday bash. Overall I left DivaDance inspired and reminded that I was a #GirlBoss!
