When the nice people over at Subaru asked me if I wanted to take their New Crosstrek for a spin I immediately said yes. We are currently looking for a bigger car or SUV so this was a great way for me to try out a crossover to see if it was a good fit for my family. When the Crosstrek arrived I was instantly in love. It wasn’t too big or too small and it was a cute powder blue color. My Snapchat family (arealurbanmom is my user name) was the first to see our special delivery.
Crossovers are the perfect match for a family of 4 because you have that extra leg room, the storage, the height, and some of the durability of a SUV. According to google: “A crossover or crossover utility vehicle is a vehicle built on a unibody car platform combining in highly variable degrees features of a sport utility vehicle with those of a passenger vehicle, especially a station wagon or hatchback,”
We tested out a Subaru before and that’s when I realized how safe the brand was and I was in love. As a mom safety is a huge concern and it seems like Subaru understands. Subaru has one feature called “The Eyesight” and The EyeSight suite of systems includes adaptive cruise control, precollision braking, lane departure warning, blind spot warning, lane change assist and rear cross-traffic alert. EyeSight is one of the few systems to receive a top score of superior from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. We were able to experience these first hand on our road trip (more on that later). It’s worth to note having this system, or one similar can decrease your insurance premiums such as qantas car insurance cover and others, many insurance providers (but not all) are able to offer a decreased price if your vehicle has sufficient safety systems, so if safety and saving money are two things you can get behind it’s worth searching for these types of offers.
Sleek, modern, easy to use, and stylish all comes to mind when I think about the Crosstrek. Soon as you slide in you are like “oh this is nice!” LOL. I couldn’t stop taking selfies when I was inside the sunroof just made the best lighting. This car isn’t just a one gender type of car either. It’s perfect for him or her. You also don’t need a family to have this vehicle, but I think that Subaru makes this the perfect crossover for a families.
